HDFC Bank has made significant changes to the credit card reward points for its Infinia metal credit card. Starting Sunday, Feb. 1, the cardholders will be able to redeem reward points up to a maximum of five times per month. This comes after reports suggested that the largest private lender in India had earlier reduced the reward point redemptions to a maximum of three times per month. The bank now clearly defines the limits on how much value can be extracted each month through reward points, though the earning structure remains unchanged.
"With effect from Feb. 1, 2026, reward points on your Infinia Credit Card can be redeemed up to a maximum of five times per month," HDFC Bank said in a notification.
Earning Reward Points, Monthly Redemption Cap
Customers holding an Infinia metal card will be able to earn five reward points for every Rs 150 spent, subject to certain conditions. Using the HDFC Bank's SmartBuy platform will help them earn higher rewards, with earnings up to 10 times the standard points over eligible transactions.
The bank has also fixed multiple ceilings for reward points. Under this structure, cardholders will be allowed to redeem up to a maximum of Rs 2 lakh reward points in a statement cycle. The redemption limit is capped at Rs 1.5 lakh per month for flights, hotel bookings and air miles.
Customers will be able to redeem reward points for up to 70% of the total bill amount while buying Apple products and Tanishq vouchers. The remaining amount can be paid through the Infinia credit card. Reward Point redemptions have been capped at 50,000 reward points per month against the statement balance.
HDFC Bank Infinia Credit Card Redemption Value (Per Point):
- Apple products, Tanishq vouchers through SmartBuy: Rs 1
- Flights, hotel bookings: Rs 1
- Air miles conversion: Up to 1 air mile
- For other products, vouchers: Up to Rs 0.5
- Cashback against statement balance: Up to Rs 0.3
The reward points earned will lapse if customers fail to utilise the credit card for over 365 days. Besides this, HDFC Bank has even revised lounge access rules for certain debit cards. Effective Jan. 10, the bank has announced a link will be sent on the registered mobile number and e-mail within two working days to customers who meet the quarterly spend criteria of Rs 10,000. Customers can use the link to claim the lounge access voucher.
