"Over the next 24 to 48 hours, Rajasthan is likely to see thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rainfall, and strong winds. Light to moderate showers are also expected, with temperatures likely to drop by 5 to 8 degrees," IMD official Radheshyam Sharma said.
"No heatwave is predicted in the coming days. From June 21 onwards, the monsoon is expected to set in with increased rainfall activity and a high probability of intense thunderstorms," he added.

Rainfall is expected to increase in Himachal Pradesh after the 20th of June, with heavy rain likely at many places on the 21st and 22nd. Regarding the monsoon, IMD Scientist Katiyar added that it is expected to advance and cover parts of Central and East India in the coming days.
Shobhit Katiyar, Senior Scientist at IMD Himachal Pradesh, said that in the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain has been observed at many places across the state, along with thundershowers recorded at some locations. No heat wave conditions have been reported anywhere in Himachal Pradesh.
Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is expected on Monday and Tuesday in Shimla, Sirmaur, Solan, Chamba, Mandi, and Kangra districts, covering both the northwest and southeastern parts of the state. Consequently, a yellow alert has been issued for all these districts.

Orange to red warnings for moderate to heavy rainfall are in place for parts of Gujarat, Konkan (coastal Maharashtra), coastal Karnataka, and Kerala.
Additionally, moderate rain along with moderate to severe thunderstorms and lightning is expected over the next three hours in regions including Rajasthan, south and north Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, extreme north and south Odisha, east Bihar, east Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura.
Water levels in Mumbai’s seven major lakes remained below 10% on Monday, despite heavy rainfall in the city over the last 24 hours. These lakes are critical for Mumbai’s drinking water supply, and their replenishment is heavily dependent on the monsoon rain.

The district of Palghar, neighbouring Mumbai, has also been put on red alert by the IMD.
The IMD has changed its nowcast from orange alert to red alert in Mumbai, following similar alerts in Thane and Raigad.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast that the southwest monsoon will reach Jharkhand within the next 48 to 72 hours, said PTI. Intermittent showers have already begun in parts of the state, with heavy rainfall expected over the coming days.

Southwest monsoon has further advanced into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, tweeted IMD. It is also seen in some parts of north Arabian Sea and Gujarat, parts of Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Telangana, parts of Madhya Pradesh, and more parts of Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
Andheri, Versova, Vile Parle, Khar, Santacruz, Juhu, Bandra, Powai, and BKC will receive severe rainfall for the next hour as a big rain band from the sea is expected to hit soon. This may also cause waterlogging.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rainfall has been recorded at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Kerala & Mahe, Madhya Maharashtra and Coastal Karnataka.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been recorded at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka, West Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Goa, Gujarat Region, Odisha; according to IMD report.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area (Mumbai city and suburbs) for the next 3 hours.
The India Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rains in Nilgiris, Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts.
Rain holiday for schools in four Taluks of Nilgiris district and Valparai Taluk of Coimbatore.
The Guwahati city authorities are closely monitoring the situation and emergency response systems are being kept on alert.
In view of the recent incidents of landslides and water blockage due to very heavy rainfall occured in the city few days back, Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) requests all the people of Guwahati to take all necessary precautions and remain vigilant.

The weather pattern suggests that thundershower with 75% predictability with heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at the isolated places of the city on today to coming 2-3 days which may aggravate water logging, slow vehicular movement, and increase the risk of localized landslides in vulnerable pockets.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Mumbai and Pune.
"It has been raining continuously in Mumbai since last night. At this time also, light rain is falling in most parts of the city. Rain will continue intermittently for the next few hours," it said.
According to the department, Mumbai is surrounded by 'rain band' from all sides. So far, waterlogging is not visible anywhere, it said. The administration has appealed to the citizens to remain alert.
