Maharashtra CM Swearing-In Ceremony: Mumbai Police Issues Traffic Advisory For Dec. 5 — Details Here

The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued an advisory ahead of the swearing-in ceremony of Maharashtra's new Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, scheduled to take place at Azad Maidan on Dec. 5. With a large gathering expected for the event, the advisory is aimed at ensuring a smooth flow of traffic and minimising disruptions for the public.

The traffic restrictions will be enforced from 12 noon on Thursday until the end of the event. Azad Maidan will not have parking facilities for visitors. Mumbai Traffic Police has suggested commuters to use public transport, especially local trains.

No-entry Zones And diversions

A. Mahapalika Marg: Traffic will be restricted from the CSMT Junction to Vasudev Balawant Phadake Chowk (Metro Junction) in both directions.

Alternative route: Commuters can use LT Marg, proceed to Chakala Junction, take a right turn onto DN Road, and continue towards the CSMT Junction and their desired destination.

B. Mahatma Gandhi Marg: No traffic will be permitted from Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS Junction) to Vasudev Balawant Phadake Chowk (Metro Junction) in both directions.

Alternative routes: Take LT Marg, reach Chakala Junction, make a right turn onto DN Road, and continue towards the CSMT Junction and the desired destination.

Redirect via Maharshi Karve Road towards the intended location.

C. Hajarimal Somani Marg: Traffic will be restricted from Chafekar Bandhu Chowk (OCS. Junction) to CSMT Junction.

Alternative route: Proceed from Chafekar Bandhu Chowk to Hutatma Chowk, then continue through Kala Ghoda, K Dubhash Marg and Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg to reach the desired destination.

D. Meghdoot Bridge (Princess Street Bridge, southbound): Traffic from NS Road and Coastal Road towards Shyamaldas Gandhi Junction will be redirected.

Alternative route: Commuters should use NS Road.

E. Rambhau Salgaonkar Road (one way): The section from Indu Clinic Junction (Sayyed Jamadar Chowk) to Volga Chowk will allow two-way traffic from 12 noon to 8 pm.
