World Economic Forum In Davos, Earnings, And More — The Week Ahead

Dalal Street heads into a high-voltage week as the Q3 FY26 earnings season peaks, global macro cues turn decisive, and primary market activity remains brisk.

More than 200 companies are scheduled to report earnings for the quarter ended December 31, ensuring stock-specific action dominates even as global uncertainty looms large.

Q3 Earnings in Focus

The earnings calendar is packed between January 19 and January 24, spanning banks, energy, metals, IT, FMCG, and capital goods.

Key results to watch include Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd, BPCL, Adani Green Energy Ltd, Hindustan Zinc Ltd, and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd.

World Economic Forum in Davos

Away from earnings, global attention shifts to the Swiss ski town of Davos, where the 56th World Economic Forum begins under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue”. The event comes at a time when economists warn of a shift from rule-based globalisation to a more power-driven geopolitical order.

India's presence stands out, with one of its largest-ever delegations, including multiple Union ministers and representatives from over ten state governments. The push is to position India as a resilient and scalable destination for global capital, weeks ahead of the Global India AI Summit in New Delhi.

Global Cues: Macro Data

On the data front, key releases include US core PCE inflation, final GDP figures, China macro data, and flash manufacturing PMIs from major economies.

Central banks remain cautious, and any upside surprise on inflation could delay expectations of near-term rate cuts. Investors will also track speeches from global leaders at Davos for policy direction.

Indian IPO Market Action

The primary market remains active in the coming week. In the mainboard segment, the Shadowfax Technologies IPO opens for subscription on Tuesday, January 20.

In the SME space, Digilogic Systems, KRM Ayurveda, and Shayona Engineering are set to hit the market. Alongside new issues, several companies—including Bharat Coking Coal, Amagi Media Labs, and Avana Electrosystems—are scheduled to list, keeping IPO momentum firmly in play.
