In the aftermath of the non-banking financial company crisis and pandemic, small and mid-size NBFCs faced funding issues due to risk aversion of banks.
Large NBFCs, however, were able to access funds via multiple sources including targeted long-term repo rates and private placements. During these challenging times, the overall exposure of the banks to NBFCs has been increasing albeit at a slower rate.
The commercial papers and corporate debts deployed together in NBFCs stood marginally higher compared to the level witnessed in February 2021.
