Stock Market Highlights: Sensex, Nifty Clock Longest Weekly Losing Streak In Over Five Years
Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Shriram Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra were among the names dragging the Nifty 50 on Friday

The Indian equity benchmarks closed in the red, closing with losses after a day of gains. The NSE Nifty 50 declined as much as 1.05% during the day. The market clocked in the longest weekly losing streak in over five years.
Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Shriram Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra were among the names dragging the index on Friday. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 232 points, or 0.95% lower at 24,363 and the 30-stock BSE Sensex ended 765 points, or 0.95% lower at 79,857.









Shares of Bharti Airtel marked the deepest losses among the Nifty 50 pack, with over 3% decline. While IndusInd Bank, Shriram Finance and M&M all closed with over 2% losses that weighed on the benchmark index Nifty 50.

All the sectors ended in the red with Nifty Realty, Metal, Auto and Pharma marking most losses. Nifty Oil and Gas, Media and PSU Bank marked lowest losses.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices ended 1.56% lower and 1.03% lower, respectively. Market breadth was skewed in the favour of sellers. Around 2,507 stocks declined and 1,521 stocks advanced while 145 remained unchanged on BSE.
