Nifty Top Gainers, Losers On May 19: Bajaj Auto, Shriram Finance To Eternal, Grasim

Bajaj Auto Ltd., Shriram Finance Ltd., Power Grid Corp., Hero MotoCorp. and Bajaj Finance Ltd. emerged as the top gainers of the NSE Nifty 50 on Monday.

Eternal Ltd., Grasim Industries Ltd., Infosys Ltd., Tata Consumer Products Ltd., and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. were the biggest laggards among the Nifty 50 stocks.

Bajaj Auto was the best performer, closing 4.34% higher at Rs 8,851 apiece. Shriram Finance closed 1.85% up at Rs 677.80. Power Grid also had a strong close at Rs 304.05 apiece. Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Finance were also among Monday's winners.

Eternal was the biggest loser, closing 3.15% at Rs 238.03 lower. Grasim Industries ended 2.75% lower, while Infosys, TCPL and TCS were also among the losers, ending 1.89%, 1.60% and 1.19% lower, respectively.

In terms of points contribution, Bajaj Auto, HDFC Bank and Bajaj Financial Services led the gains in the index the most. Meanwhile, Infosys led the declines in the index.

Benchmark equity indices closed lower on Monday, marking second consecutive session of losses as they ended lower on last Friday as well.

The NSE Nifty 50 closed 74.35 points, or 0.3% lower at 24,945.45 and the BSE Sensex ended 271 points, or 0.33% down at 82,059.42. During the day, the Nifty fell 0.41% to 24,916.65, while the Sensex declined 0.44% to trade at 81,964.57.
