The Individual weighted received premium for private players grew 22% YoY in June 2022 (a three-year compound annual growth rate of 9.7%, up 96% in May 2022).
YoY growth moderated on account of a low base in May-21, which saw muted volumes due to the lockdown on account of the second Covid-19 wave.
Among listed players, SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd. posted an impressive growth of 41.9% YoY in June-2022 (a three-year CAGR of 14.9%), while all others were weak.
HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. reported a 6.3% YoY growth (a three-year CAGR of 0.9%).
ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Ltd. posted a decline of 2.9% YoY (a three-year CAGR of -7.8%). Max Life too reported a decline of 1.8% YoY (a three-year CAGR of 9.3%).
Life Insurance Corporation of India reported a growth of 21.2% YoY (a three-year CAGR of 9.7%, up 65.1% in May-22) in Individual WRP. The three-year CAGR is similar to private players in aggregate.
