FPIs Turn Sellers After A Day
Domestic institutional investors stayed net buyers for the 13th straight session.

Foreign portfolio investors turned net sellers of Indian equities on Thursday after a day, selling up stocks worth Rs 208.47 crore, according to the provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.
Domestic institutional investors stayed net buyers for the 13th straight session as they bought equities worth Rs 2,382.4 crore, the data showed.
The FPIs bought equity worth Rs 19,860 crore in May. In April, the overseas investors had net bought shares worth Rs 4,223 crore, according to the National Securities Depository Ltd.'s data.
In March, they had net offloaded equities worth Rs 3,973 crore, which was significantly lower as compared to the net selling of equities worth Rs 34,574 crore in February. This was preceded by net selling of Rs 78,027 crore in January.
In 2025 so far, the FPIs have net sold equities worth Rs 1.01 lakh crore, the NSDL data showed.
The benchmark equity indices closed higher for second straight session on Thursday, after ending a three-day losing streak on Wednesday.
The NSE Nifty 50 ended 130 points, or 0.53% higher at 24,750, while the BSE Sensex closed 443.79 points, or 0.55% up at 81,442. During the day, the Nifty rose 1.41% to trade at 24,899.85 and the Sensex advanced 1.13% to 81,911.13.
