Foreign portfolio investors stayed net buyers of Indian equities for the 13th straight session on Monday, as they bought stocks worth Rs 497.79 crore.
Domestic institutional investors remained net buyers for the sixth session in a row, mopping up equities worth Rs 2,788.66 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.
On Friday, the FPIs had bought equities worth Rs 2,813.23 crore.
In April, the overseas investors had net bought shares worth Rs 4,223 crore, according to the National Securities Depository Ltd.'s data.
In March, the FPIs had net offloaded equities worth Rs 3,973 crore, which was significantly lower as compared to the net selling of equities worth Rs 34,574 crore in February. This was preceded by net selling of Rs 78,027 crore in January.
In 2025 so far, the FPIs have net sold equities worth Rs 1.09 lakh crore, the NSDL data showed.
India's benchmark equity indices ended higher for the second session in a row on Monday. The NSE Nifty 50 closed 114.45 points or 0.47% higher at 24,461.15, while the BSE Sensex ended 294.85 points or 0.37% up at 80,796.84. Intraday, the Nifty rose as much as 0.74% to 24,526.40, while the Sensex jumped 0.68% to 81,049.03.
