FPIs Remain Net Sellers For Fourth Day

Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers for the fourth straight day on Thursday as they offloaded equities worth Rs 2,806 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

Domestic institutional investors remained net buyers for the fifth consecutive session as they mopped up equities worth Rs 221.5 crore.

On Wednesday, the FPIs net sold equities worth Rs 1,538.9 crore. In March, the FPIs net offloaded equities worth Rs 3,973 crore, according to the National Securities Depository Ltd.'s data.

In February, the overseas had net offloaded equities worth Rs 34,574 crore. This was preceded by net selling of Rs 78,027 crore in January. In 2025 so far, the FPIs have net sold equities worth Rs 1.23 lakh crore, the NSDL data showed.

The benchmark equity indices ended in the red on Thursday after US President Donald Trump imposed heavy tariffs on India and the world.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 82.25 points or 0.35% lower at 23,250.10 and the BSE Sensex closed 322.08 points or 0.42% down at 76,295.36. During the day, the Nifty fell as much as 0.79% to 23,145.80, while the Sensex dropped 1.06% to 75,807.55
