Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri's O' Romeo continued its first-week run on a stable note, while Bejoy Nambiar's Tu Yaa Main remained slow at the box office on Day 7.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Vishal Bhardwaj directorial added an estimated Rs 1.4 crore net in India on its first Thursday, taking its seven-day total to around Rs 45.4 crore. In comparison, Tu Yaa Main, directed by Bejoy Nambiar, managed only about Rs 0.13 crore on Day 7, pushing its week-one collection to approximately Rs 4.18 crore.
O' Romeo opened strongly with Rs 8.5 crore on Day 1 and saw a sharp jump on Saturday with Rs 12.65 crore. Although collections dipped to Rs 9 crore on Sunday, the film maintained a reasonable hold through the weekdays, earning Rs 4.85 crore on Monday and Rs 5.35 crore on Tuesday before slipping to Rs 3.65 crore on Wednesday. Despite the expected drop on Thursday, the overall trend points to a steady first week for the romantic drama.
The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 6.95% on Day 7. Morning shows stood at 5.63%, improving to 8.27% in the afternoon. Among key centres, Chennai led with 13% occupancy, followed by Mumbai and Jaipur at 9.5% each and Lucknow at 9%. The National Capital Region saw 7% occupancy, while Hyderabad remained low at 2%. The film features Nana Patekar, Vikrant Massey, Disha Patani, Tamannaah and Avinash Tiwary and is produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
In contrast, Tu Yaa Main, starring Adarsh Gourav, Shanaya Kapoor and Parul Gulati, has struggled to gain momentum since its release. After opening with Rs 0.6 crore, the film briefly grew to Rs 1.45 crore on Saturday but dropped to Rs 0.8 crore on Sunday. Weekday collections remained modest, with Rs 0.4 crore on Monday, Rs 0.45 crore on Tuesday and Rs 0.35 crore on Wednesday.
On Day 7, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 6.62%, with 5.13% in morning shows and 8.11% in the afternoon. Chennai showed the highest occupancy at 22%, though with limited shows, while Mumbai reported 8.5% and Hyderabad 8%.
With a significantly stronger first-week total, O' Romeo has managed to hold its ground at the box office, whereas Tu Yaa Main continues to face an uphill battle in attracting audiences.
