A petition was submitted before the Madras High Court seeking a stay on the release of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, according to a report by Daily Thanthi. The film's premiere would violate the Model Code of Conduct currently in place for the Tamil Nadu elections, as per the plea filed by an advocate.

The advocate mentioned that the plea should be considered urgent and is seeking a ban on the screening of the film in the state. She argued that the content of the movie could affect voters as it reflects one-sided views and goes against the Model Code of Conduct in force, added the report.
