Ratnesh Kumar of the Bharatiya Janata Party defeated Shashant Shekhar of the Indian National Congress by 38,900 votes in the Patna Sahib constituency as the Bihar Assembly Election Results 2025 were announced on Friday.

The BJP's Nand Kishore Yadav had won the seat in the previous three assembly elections. The seat was preceded by Patna East, where Kishore won four successive times since 1995.

There are 10 candidates in the fray, out of which the main candidates are Ratnesh Kumar from the BJP, Shashant Shekhar from the Congress and Vinita Mishra from the Jan Suraaj Party.
Randhir Kumar of the BSP, Manmohan Kumar of the AAP and Adil Aftab Khan from the NCP are also some of the candidates.
Elections to the 121 seats of the 243-member assembly were held on Nov. 6, while the remaining 122 constituencies went to polls on Nov. 11. A voter turnout of 66.91% was registered in the Bihar polls.
