Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reacted to an assassination attempt on US President Donald Trump at the Washington Hill on Saturday evening in the US.
The Prime Minister took to X to express support for his US counterpart while he condemned any violence in a running democracy.
"Relieved to learn that President Trump, the First Lady and Vice President are safe and unharmed following the recent security incident at a Washington DC hotel.
"I extend my best wishes for their continued safety and well-being. Violence has no place in a democracy and must be unequivocally condemned," PM Modi posted on his official X account.
This comes on the back of a dramatic evening in Washington that saw a gunman opening fire outside the Washington Hilton during the White House Correspondents' Dinner, forcing the evacuation of Trump and Vance from the venue.
