The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), operating under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has launched the NVS Recruitment (Revised) Guidelines, 2026, for various teaching and non-teaching positions. The formal announcement was posted on Feb. 11, and the updated guidelines are effective immediately.
As per the announcement, the amended recruitment guidelines will be applicable to positions for which prior recruitment rules were established in March and December 2025. The NVS has revised these regulations after securing endorsement from the appropriate authority. The newly established recruitment guidelines have been issued as a distinct schedule, and candidates should refer to the official PDF for comprehensive details concerning individual posts.
These updated guidelines will apply to several roles in both educational and administrative sectors. In accordance with the official announcement, these include Assistant Commissioner (Academic), Principal, and Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) roles in Hindi, English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Economics, Biology, History, Geography, Commerce, Computer Science, Physical Education, and Modern Indian Languages.
The announcement encompasses Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) roles across Hindi, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Computer Science, Art, Music, Library, Physical Education, and Special Education domains. Moreover, these regulations will extend to Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) roles within the Headquarters/Regional Office framework and the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya framework.
NVS has made it clear that all other provisions of the previous hiring guidelines will remain intact, aside from the modifications made in the revised document. The updated regulations will govern future recruitments for the designated roles.
Prospective applicants looking to secure teaching or non-teaching roles at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) should thoroughly review the official recruitment guidelines PDF. This document offers comprehensive details pertaining to eligibility criteria, age restrictions, educational qualifications, selection procedures, salary brackets, and, where relevant, probationary durations.
