The latest order is in addition to the local holidays already declared for these offices on the occasions of Gopalkala (Dahi Handi) and Anant Chaturdashi.

Earlier, the government had declared September 5, 2026, a local holiday on account of Gopalkala (Dahi Handi), through a circular dated October 8, 2026.

Another circular, issued on August 28, 2026, had declared September 28, 2026, a local holiday for Anant Chaturdashi.

The November 9 holiday has been declared under the provisions of Government Decision No. PCH- and S. Number 21/III/B, dated November 5, 1958.

The circular has been digitally signed and authenticated by Atul Patne, Principal Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra.

General Public can see the circular on the Maharashtra Government's official website, that is maharashtra.gov.in, under the code number mentioned in the original circular.

The order has also been circulated to the Governor's Secretariat, the Chief Minister's Office, the offices of the Deputy Chief Ministers, state ministers and departments, Mumbai's civic and district administration, and other concerned government offices.
