The use of mobile phones has been completely prohibited within the premises of the Kedarnath Temple, a member of the temple committee has said, as reported by news agency ANI. Authorities have stepped up efforts to preserve the sanctity of the shrine to manage the expected influx of pilgrims during the upcoming Kedarnath Yatra.

Vineet Posti, a member of the temple committee, said the decision had been taken in view of both the religious importance of the shrine and the convenience of devotees. He said carrying mobile phones inside the temple complex, taking photographs or videos, and making social media reels would be strictly forbidden. He added that any devotee found violating the rules would face legal action. The temple committee has appealed to pilgrims to follow the guidelines and maintain religious decorum so that all visitors can have a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling darshan.

Traffic Management At Rudraprayag

Meanwhile, the Rudraprayag police administration has drawn up a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure the smooth and safe movement of devotees during the pilgrimage season. The measures are aimed at regulating traffic flow and preventing congestion along the Kedarnath Yatra route, reported ANI.

Officials said arrangements were being strengthened from national highways to connecting link roads in anticipation of heavy footfall. Police personnel will be deployed at key points to regulate vehicular movement, ease congestion and ensure an orderly flow of traffic throughout the route.

The administration has also made provision for permanent and temporary parking facilities along the pilgrimage corridor in a bid to reduce pressure on roads and avoid traffic bottlenecks. Officials said the measures were intended to improve both convenience and safety for pilgrims travelling to the shrine.

Rudraprayag Superintendent of Police Niharika Tomar said a detailed and structured traffic plan had been prepared in coordination with neighbouring districts to ensure seamless movement, particularly during periods of peak rush.
"A detailed traffic plan has been formulated for the yatra in the district. Coordination has been established with nearby districts. The traffic system has been divided into two super zones and 11 sectors. Additionally, 13 mobile force teams have been constituted. A diversion plan will also be implemented in case of increased traffic pressure," she told ANI.

Officials said dividing the district into super zones and sectors would allow for better monitoring and quicker responses to traffic-related challenges during the pilgrimage. Mobile teams have also been deployed to deal with real-time situations and ensure swift intervention wherever necessary, especially during peak travel hours. The arrangements form part of wider preparations by the district administration to ensure that this year's Kedarnath Yatra is safe, orderly and well managed for all devotees.
