Extending the wait for lakhs of aspirants, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced last night that the JEE Main 2026 result release date has been rescheduled to February 16. The results were slated to be declared on Feb. 12, as per the information bulletin last year. There is no information regarding the reason for the delay.

Expected Cutoff marks

According to historical patterns, applicants from the general category could require 90–100 points out of 300 to be eligible for JEE Advanced. According to overall performance and normalisation, this score range typically translates to a percentile of 93–95 or above.

How to calculate raw score

On release of the final answer key, applicants can use the marking system to estimate their raw score. In multiple-choice questions, one mark is subtracted for each incorrect response, while four marks are given for each correct response.

Admission procedure and seat allocation process

Candidates will be awarded admission through a seat allocation process that will be notified by CSAB/JoSAA, depending on their preferences and All India Ranks. During the seat allocation/admission procedure, all relevant documents, including proof of identity, date of birth, qualifying exam results, eligibility status, category, and handicap (where applicable), will be verified. Applicants may not be admitted if they do not provide valid documents.
