The wholesale inflation continued its declining trend by falling below 5 per cent in February. The inflation fell to 4.68 per cent in February as compared to 5.05 per cent in January.
The decline in February was led by a fall in food inflation which fell to 8.12 per cent as compared to 8.80 per cent in the previous month.
The recent trend of a decline in food prices however could be temporary as hail and heavy rains in the past two weeks have damaged crops.
