Shares of NIIT Ltd. and Aptech Ltd. advanced on Saturday as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced schemes in the Union Budget to focus on education.
Sitharaman said a centre of excellence in artificial intelligence for education will be established with a total outlay of Rs 500 crore.
Shares of NIIT surged 3.18% higher at Rs 161.51 apiece on the NSE. as of noon. The stock has risen 22.17% in the last 12 months.
Aptech's stock rose 1.69% to Rs 160.31 apiece on the NSE. The stock has fallen 41.86% in the last 12 months.
