(Bloomberg) -- In a historic vote, the U.K. chose to leave the European Union, triggering a global equity selloff and sending euro-area shares to their biggest-ever slump last Friday. Yet in the end, Britain's FTSE 100 Index recovered in just four days, with the weakening pound and rising commodities boosting it to a 10-month high and making it the best monthly performer among developed markets. The FTSE 100 has been about 25 percent less volatile than the Euro Stoxx 50 Index in the past year.
