India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed 150 crore (1,50,52,21,314) today. More than 81 lakh doses were administered till 7 pm on Friday.

Congratulating the nation on the landmark achievement Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "The country started the year with vaccination for children in the age group of 15 to 18 years. At the same time, in the first week of the first month of the year itself, India has also achieved the historic milestone of 150 crore- 1.5 billion vaccine doses."

Delhi recorded 17,335 new Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours, news agency ANI reported citing figures released by the Delhi government.

The city also reported nine deaths during the same period. With a positivity rate of 17.73%, Delhi now has 39,873 active cases.

  • Political, social programs and weddings to have no more than 400 attendees in open areas

  • Events in closed areas can operate with 50% capacity

  • No more than 100 persons allowed to attend funerals

  • Educational institutions to remain closed till Jan. 31

  • Shops, spas, shopping complexes, hotels and restaurants allowed to operate at 75% capacity, till 10 p.m.

  • Cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools and libraries allowed to operate at 50% capacity.

West Bengal recorded 18,213 fresh Covid-19 cases and 18 deaths in the past 24 hours, ANI reported, citing the state government.

The active case tally in the state has now reached 51,384.

Mumbai Won’t Go Into Lockdown Even if Cases Rise, Chahal Says

Goa reported 1,418 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths in the past 24-hours, according to a statement from the state government.

After a significant spike in new Covid-19 cases, the state now has 5,931 active cases.

Kerala reported 5,296 fresh Covid-19 cases and 35 deaths in the past 24 hours, ANI reported citing Kerala government.

The active case tally in the state now stands at 27,859.

The government of India has mandated home quarantine for all international arrivals at airports, seaports and land borders.

"All arrivals will have to undergo home quarantine for 7 days and undertake a test on the 8th day of arrival," a Health Ministry order stated.

Besides, all travellers should upload a negative Covid-19 test taken a maximum of 72 hours before the journey.
