India's daily Covid-19 infection rate continued to rise with over 45,000 new cases being reported over the past 24 hours.

Bharat Biotech Releases First Batch Of Covaxin From New Plant

Bharat Biotech Ltd. today released the first batch of Covaxin from its new manufacturing plant in Ankleshwar Gujarat.

  • The new plant has a capacity of 1 crore doses a month

  • In May, company had said it would utilise wholly-owned subsidiary Chiron Behring in Gujarat to manufacture 20 crore additional doses of Covaxin.

Covid Cases Continue To Rises

India's daily Covid-19 infection rate continued to rise with over 45,000 new cases being reported over the past 24 hours.

As many as 45,083 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 9 a.m. on Aug. 29. Daily new cases have remained above 44,000-mark for the fourth straight day now.

The country reported 35,840 recoveries and 460 deaths during the same period. India's active case tally inched up to 3.68 lakh with new cases outpacing recoveries.
