Tea stocks jump on hopes of higher prices

A new report by the Boston Consulting Group says online retail in India could be a $84-billion industry by 2016 -- more than ten times its worth in 2010 -- and will account for 4.5 per cent of total retail.

Shares of Tea companies saw strong buying interest in a down market Monday. Most tea stocks traded 1-4% higher.According to the Indian Tea Association, tea auctions have witnessed strong opening prices this year. Auction prices are up 46-55% this year.
