Padmaavat is off to a good start at the national as well as international box-office. The film has raked in Rs 24 crore on day 1 in India, despite limited screenings in some states. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels it would have made Rs 28 crore to Rs 30 crore if it had a smooth opening.
Despite non-screening in few states and protests/disturbances, #Padmaavat fares VERY WELL on Day 1... Had it been a peaceful/smooth all-India release, the biz would've touched ₹ 28 / ₹ 30 cr... Wed [limited preview screenings] 5 cr, Thu 19 cr. Total: ₹ 24 cr. India biz.
January 26, 2018Business however, is expected to pick up over the long weekend.
#Padmaavat is ROCKING today [26 Jan 2018; holiday]... Sat and Sun also expected to be HUGE.

AUSTRALIA: A$ 367,984 [₹ 1.88 cr]
NEW ZEALAND: NZ$ 64,265 [₹ 29.99 lakhs]
UK [preview screenings]: £ 97,604 [₹ 88.08 lakhs]@RentrakAs per reports, many theatres in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have refused to screen Padmaavat, which would also impact its collections.
However, Komal Nahta seems optimistic, according to him the figures of Padmaavat may have already surpassed that of Baahubali and Dangal.
And this should put the Rajput Karni Sena in an embarrassing position: First day comparative figures - Padmavat 355K, Bahubali 2 was 212K, Dangal was 247K. And guys, K stands for thousand, not for Karni!!
