Maha Kumbh 2025: PhonePe, ICICI Lombard Launch Insurance With Health And Travel Coverage

There are two variations in the offerings in order to address the wide requirements of the masses travelling.

Festivities make air fares soar higher than planes. Even after squeezing the ticket prices, the possibilities of things going wrong are very much present. Possibilities of missed connection flights and health issues while travelling with others, are heightened issued when large masses are travelling.

Ahead of one of the biggest festivities of Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj—the Maha Kumbh Mela—PhonePe has partnered with ICICI Lombard to launch an insurance coverage. The coverage is specifically aimed to cover for travellers attending the upcoming Maha Kumbh Mela. Taking place from Jan. 13 to Feb. 26, 2025, many are set to travel for the festivities.

There are two variations in the offerings in order to address the wide requirements of the masses travelling.

Insurance plan of Rs 59 per traveler is available for individuals traveling by train or bus. There is also a Rs 99 per plan for individuals who will be traveling by domestic flights.

According to the reports, the plans will provide devotees with coverage for a range of risks. This includes hospitalisation, doctor consultation, outpatient treatment and personal accident on the medical front.

As far as travel-specific coverage goes, the loss of checked-in baggage, trip cancellation cover, missed connecting flight cover, and repatriation of remains will be covered.

"Users can avail this plan on the PhonePe platform until February 25, 2025 and have access to complete coverage for the entire duration of their journey and stay at the Maha Kumbh Mela, ensuring a safe and secure pilgrimage for millions of devotees," according to reports.
