IndiGo Adds Four US Cities To Its Network With Turkish Airlines Via Codeshare
IndiGo's expanded codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines now includes four additional US cities, enhancing its reach to key destinations across the US.

IndiGo on Monday said that its codesharing arrangement with Turkish Airlines has expanded to a total of 43 destinations, with the inclusion of four cities in the US.
The US cities that IndiGo will be adding to its routes, via its codeshare partnership with Turkish Airlines, include Houston, Atlanta, Miami, and Los Angeles through Istanbul.
The Gurgaon-headquartered airline’s press release stated, "This expansion of IndiGo's codeshare network in partnership with Turkish Airlines now links to nine destinations across the USA."
Codeshare partnerships allow an airline to book its passengers on its partner carriers and provide seamless travel to various destinations.
The airline’s flights are also connected to New York, Washington, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco via the codeshare partnership.
IndiGo has codeshare partnerships with nine airlines. With its codeshare agreement with American Airlines, it is connected to Seattle and New York.
Recently, in November, the InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. operated airline had announced the launch of its codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines Co.
According to its announcement, the arrangement was set to commence on Monday.
Japan Airlines used to provide daily flights between Tokyo and Delhi, as well as five weekly services between Tokyo and Bengaluru. With the new agreement, Japan Airlines will establish a robust network in India, linking major cities via IndiGo’s extensive domestic operations.
Earlier, in October, the airline had said that it expects about 40% of its grounded fleet to return to operation by April. Costs related to idle aircraft had led to the low-cost carrier reporting its first quarterly loss in two years.
IndiGo had about 75 aircraft, about a fifth of its total fleet, grounded last year in November, mainly due to defects in the Pratt & Whitney engines.
To mitigate the capacity shortfall due to the grounding, the airline had opted to extend leases on older jets as well as hire new aircraft. IndiGo inducted 31 aircraft in the second quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. Of these aircraft, nine were added as part of this strategy.
Shares of InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. closed 0.68% lower at Rs 4,402.65 apiece on the BSE, compared to a 0.47% decline in the benchmark Sensex.
