Hero Impulse, the new 150-cc bike from Hero MotoCorp is now available at a price of Rs 74,730 (on road price for single disc model) in New Delhi. The Impulse, being marketed as a dual purpose bike that can be used for both normal commuting as well as off-road adventure, is Hero's first product after the company's joint venture with Honda ended last year.

 

The bike is priced at a premium as compared to other 150-cc bikes. Hero MotoCorp's other 150-cc bikes include the Achiever, CBZ Extreme and Hunk, which are priced between Rs 55,925 and Rs 65,215 (ex-showroom Delhi).

 

Technical specifications:

 

The bike sports a high torque ATFT engine (air cooled, 4- stroke single cylinder OHC) that provides a displacement of 149.2 cc. It can generate a maximum power of 9.7 kW (13.2 Ps) @ 7500 rpm. The maximum torque is 13.4 N-m @ 5000 rpm. It has a DC - CDI Ignition System.

 

The Impulse has a 5 Speed constant mesh gear box. It has front telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and sports a nitrox gas-filled mono shock rear suspension. Large front disc brakes are for cross country riding. Rear has drum brakes.

 

It has a wheelbase of 1360 mm and high ground clearance (245 mm) for rough terrain riding. The Impulse sports a raised fender and sporty high mount muffler for off-road biking.

 

The console has a digital-analog combo meter with ‘service due’ indicator. Fuel capacity is 11.1 litre out of which 2.6 litre is usable reserve.
