Gautam Adani addressed students of the Adani International School, in Ahmedabad on Monday. The billionaire shared three guiding principles for the students; dream relentlessly, learn relentlessly, and build relentlessly.

Sharing his story, the chairman of the Adani group reflected on his humble beginnings as well. He spoke of growing up in Banaskantha, where he learned core values like courage, trust, and commitment from his parents.

"At 16 years of age, buying a train ticket at the Ahmedabad railway station and boarding the Gujarat mail to Mumbai with nothing much in my pocket had me both excited and nervous. Once in Mumbai, I joined a diamond assortment company," he said.

Picking up the business quickly, in about three years, Adani left to start his own diamond trading brokerage in Zaveri Bazar.

"I still recall the day I did my first trade with a Japanese buyer. I made a commission of Rs 10,000. I was 19 years old, and this was the start of my journey as an entrepreneur," he recalled. While he acknowledged the benefits of formal education, Adani emphasised that life experiences and wisdom are equally vital in shaping one's success.

He also reminded them to use the resources available to them wisely and to think beyond personal gain, envisioning a future that uplifts others.

He expressed hope that Adani International School would produce future leaders who would make a profound impact on society and transform India. His final wish was for the school to be remembered as the birthplace of the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators who will shape the nation’s future.
