Smart Ponds, Stronger Farmers: Essential Aquatech’s MeenAmma

Essential Aquatech is building the intelligence infrastructure for India’s freshwater aquaculture sector, empowering smallholder fish farmers with real-time pond health monitoring, disease diagnostics, and climate-responsive advisory through MeenAmma, a WhatsApp-native AI platform. Supported by a network of trained Matsya Didis and the proprietary 3AI AquaStack developed with IIT Kharagpur, the platform combines farmer interactions, satellite insights, weather data, and pond-level records to create the sector’s first verified intelligence layer. This enables improved productivity, climate resilience, and access to formal credit and insurance for previously underserved farming communities.
