China cuts GDP growth target to 7.5 %, projected decline first in 7 years

Economic superpower China cut its growth target largely because its largely export-oriented econy has been hurt by falling demand in Western nations.

Facing an economic downturn due to a steady fall in exports, China has for the first time in seven years projected lower growth, scaling down its GDP target to 7.5 per cent this year from last year's 8 per cent.
