The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday announced that it will reintroduce On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 evaluations during the 2026 board examinations. The Secondary and Senior Secondary Board Examinations are scheduled to take place from February 17 to April 10, 2026, involving students from more than 31,000 affiliated schools across India and 26 countries abroad.

This year, an estimated 46 lakh students will appear for the exams at over 8,074 examination centres worldwide.
CBSE has continued its focus on strengthening the assessment process and has introduced three significant initiatives for 2026:

  • Second Board Examinations for Class X

To ensure smooth implementation of these measures, the Board will conduct a live webcast detailing guidelines for examination conduct and OSM procedures.
