India Targets Top 10 Global Shipbuilding Rank By 2030 With Mega Subsidy Push
India is setting sail for a major leap in global shipbuilding, aiming to break into the top 10 by 2030 and the top five by 2047. The government recently notified operational guidelines for two flagship initiatives — the Shipbuilding Financial Assistance Scheme (SBFAS) and the Shipbuilding Development Scheme (SbDS) — together worth over Rs 44,700 crore.
Speaking exclusively to NDTV Profit, Vijay Kumar, shipping secretary, said the schemes are designed to strengthen domestic shipbuilding capacity and improve global competitiveness. They will support skilling, training, testing and R&D in the shipbuilding sector.
"Currently, India ranks 16th in shipbuilding worldwide. These measures will help us overcome cost disadvantages and scale up production," he said.

India On Track For 500 GW Non-Fossil Power, Data Centres To Drive Overshoot: MNRE Secy — Profit Exclusive
India is firmly on track to meet its 500-gigawatt non-fossil fuel capacity target by 2030, with a strong pipeline of solar, wind, hydro and nuclear projects already under development, said Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) Secretary Santosh Sarangi.
India currently has about 260 GW of non-fossil capacity. Of the remaining 240 GW needed, around 160 GW will come from solar power and about 30 GW from wind energy, Sarangi said. Additional capacity will be added through small and large hydro projects, along with 8–10 GW of nuclear power.
PC Jeweller Shares Surge In Trade After Key Developments — Details Inside
Shares of PC Jeweller are buzzing in trade on Monday's session, rising up to 7% after the company reported its Q3 business update for the fiscal year ending March 2026 while also announcing an agremeent with Uttar Pradesh government.
The stock is currently trading at Rs 10.09, accounting for gains of more than 5.5%, after initially reaching an intraday high of Rs 10.32. However, in the past 12 months, the stock has corrected by more than 33%.

The initial public offering (IPO) of Bharat Coking Coal Ltd. will open for subscription on Friday, Jan. 9. The bidding window for the mainboard issue will close on Tuesday, Jan. 13.
According to InvestorGain, the latest grey market premium (GMP) for the Bharat Coking Coal IPO stood at Rs 16.25 per share as of 9:00 a.m. on Jan. 5. With an upper price band of Rs 23, the latest GMP reflects an estimated listing price of Rs 39.25. The GMP indicates an expected listing gain of 70.65% per share over the upper limit of the issue price.

India’s office real estate investment trusts are entering what Morgan Stanley calls a new phase of low-risk, compounding returns. This is driven by strong leasing momentum, easing interest rates, and sustained demand from global capability centres (GCCs).
In a new research note, the brokerage said FY25 marked a clear inflection point for listed office REITs, with distribution per unit (DPU) growth of around 10% year-on-year — the first such acceleration since their listing.
Morgan Stanley expects DPU to compound at roughly 10% annually over the next three years, supported by higher occupancies, new leasable area additions, and the full transmission of rate cuts.
