DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor with a dream of joining law enforcement, has been appointed as the honourary U.S. Secret Service agent by President Donald Trump.

During his first speech in the US Congress on Mar. 4, Trump honoured DJ Daniel, saying, "Tonight, DJ, we're going to do you the biggest honour of them all."

Trump said that he has asked Secret Service Director Sean Curran to officially make Daniel an agent of the United States Secret Service.

He highlighted that Daniel has "always dreamed" of becoming a police officer. “Joining us in the gallery tonight is a young man who truly loves our police,” Donald Trump said, applauding DJ's commitment.

The president went on to talk about the resilience DJ has shown in his battle against cancer.

"The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than six years ago. Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true," Trump added.
