Wednesday marks the 12th day of the US, Israel-Iran conflict, and no indication of de-escalation is visible from either ends.

US President Donald Trump claimed hitting and destroying 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships, with more to follow!

Both sides sharpened their rhetoric as they dug in, with US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth again promising the most intense strikes yet, while Iran's leaders ruled out talks and threatened Trump. At the Pentagon, Hegseth warned that there will be yet again our most intense day of strikes inside Iran by deploying most fighters, the most bombers, the most strikes, intelligence more refined and better than ever.

Iran's leaders have remained defiant after days of heavy strikes targeting the country's leadership, military, ballistic missiles and disputed nuclear programme. Iran's parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, said on X that Iran was "definitely not looking for a ceasefire".

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said that Iran war will end soon. While giving a telephonic interview to Axios, he added that there is "practically" nothing left to target in Iran. 

Trump also said the war is “going great” and US forces have inflicted more damage than expected.

“We are way ahead of the timetable. We have done more damage than we thought possible, even in the original six-week period,” he said.

Iran War Live Updates: Iran Tells World 'Get Ready For $200 A Barrel'

According to a report by Reuters, Iran's military command said on Wednesday the world should be prepared for oil to hit $200 a barrel, as three more ships came under attack in the blockaded Gulf.

"Get ready for oil to be $200 a barrel, because the oil price depends on regional security which you ​have destabilised," Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran's military command, said in comments addressed to the United States.

Shrapnel has killed a woman following a strike on an arms depot belonging to an Iran-backed armed group in Iraq, health and security officials told AFP.

 Two Iranian drones hit near Dubai International Airport on Wednesday, wounding four people, though flights continue, authorities said.

The Dubai Media Office, which issues statements on behalf of the city-state's government, said the attack caused "minor injuries to two Ghanaian nationals and one Bangladeshi national, and moderate injuries to one Indian national."

Iran War Live Updates: Iran Can Come To US For WC, Infantino Speaks To Trump

FIFA said it anticipates Iran's national team will be allowed to come to the United States, even with war going on between the countries, and compete in the World Cup that begins in about three months.

Iran is scheduled to play in Inglewood, California, against New Zealand on June 15 and Belgium on June 21 before finishing group play against Egypt in Seattle on June 26. The U.S. is hosting the tournament with Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19.

Iranian officials have suggested recently that its country's participation is in some doubt because of the war.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said he met with President Donald Trump on Tuesday night “to discuss the status of preparations” for the tournament and received assurances that Iran would be permitted to come to the U.S.

"We also spoke about the current situation in Iran, and the fact that the Iranian team has qualified to participate in the FIFA World Cup 2026,” Infantino said. “During the discussions, President Trump reiterated that the Iranian team is, of course, welcome to compete in the tournament in the United States."

A projectile hit a container ship early Wednesday morning off the coast of the United Arab Emirates in the Strait of Hormuz, the British military said.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center issued the warning, saying the attack happened off Ras al-Khaimah, the UAE’s northern-most emirate on the strait. It said the "extent of the damage is currently unknown but under investigation by the crew," reported AP

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been left stranded in Qatar amid the war in the Middle East. Al-Khelaifi has not been able to fly out of Doha for more than a week, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday. The person spoke on the condition on anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Two more members of the Iranian women's football team were granted asylum in Australia before their teammates departed, the country's Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke said on Wednesday.

The pair has been reunited with five players who were granted humanitarian visas a day earlier, Burke told reporters in Canberra. One of those in the later group was a player and the other a team staffer, Burke said, and both sought asylum before their teammates were transported to the airport.

The rest of the team's departure from Sydney to return to Iran late Tuesday local time happened during fraught and outraged protest at the team's hotel and at the airport, where Iranian Australians sought to prevent the women from leaving the country, citing fears for their safety in Iran.

Iran War Live Updates: Pentagon Says 140 US Troops Wounded

Gen. Dan Caine, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said US forces hit more than 5,000 targets.

The Pentagon separately said on Tuesday that about 140 US service members have been wounded in the war, and the "vast majority" of the injuries were minor, with 108 service members already back on duty. Eight US service members suffered severe injuries, and seven have been killed.

Iran War Live Updates: Lakhs Displaced By Fighting

The UN refugee agency said that more than 667,000 people in Lebanon had registered as displaced -- an increase of over 100,000 since a day earlier -- and more than 85,000 people from Lebanon, mostly Syrians, had entered neighbouring Syria.

The British government said the number of commercial flights from the UAE to the UK is returning to normal levels, with 32 flights operated from Dubai to Britain on Monday and another 36 scheduled on Tuesday. British Airways, however, said it suspended flights to and from Jordan, Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai and Tel Aviv until later this month.

Many foreign nationals have been getting out of the Persian Gulf region since the war began, including over 45,000 UK citizens, the British Foreign Office said. Some 40,000 people returned to the United States, according to the State Department.

Iran has repeatedly targeted energy infrastructure with attacks that appear aimed at generating enough global economic pain to pressure the US and Israel to end their strikes. It has also fired on Israel and US military bases in the region.

Iran has effectively stopped tankers from using the Strait of Hormuz, through which 20% of the world's oil is carried.

Iran War Live Updates: Iran Leaders 'Not Looking For Ceasefire'

Iran's leaders have remained defiant after days of heavy strikes targeting the country's leadership, military, ballistic missiles and disputed nuclear programme. Iran's parliament speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, said on X that Iran was "definitely not looking for a ceasefire".

"We believe that the aggressor should be punched in the mouth so that he learns a lesson so that he will never think of attacking our beloved Iran again," he said.

A top Iranian security official, Ali Larijani, posted a warning to Trump, writing on X that "Even those bigger than you couldn't eliminate Iran. Be careful not to get eliminated yourself." Iran has been accused of plotting attempts to kill Trump in the past.
 

Iran War Live Updates: Death Toll Rises In Gulf

The United Arab Emirates reported two more deaths as nine drones struck the country, and nearly three dozen other drones and missiles were intercepted. Firefighters battled a blaze after an Iranian drone strike in the industrial city of Ruwais, home to petrochemical plants, officials said. No injuries were reported there.

Iranian attacks on the wealthy Gulf country -- home to the business and travel hub of Dubai -- have killed six people and wounded 122 since the surprise bombardment of Iran by the US and Israel began on February 28.

In Bahrain, authorities said an Iranian attack hit a residential building in the capital, Manama, killing a 29-year-old woman and wounding eight people. Bahrain's Defence Ministry says it has intercepted over 100 ballistic missiles and 175 drones since the war began.

Sirens also sounded in Jerusalem, and sounds of explosions could be heard in Tel Aviv as Israel's air defences worked to intercept barrages from Iran. Hezbollah, which began firing on Israel after the start of the war, launched missiles into Israel.

US President Donald Trump announced on his Truth Social platform that the US military has destroyed 10 inactive Iranian mine-laying vessels near the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway for global oil shipments. 

He wrote, "I am pleased to report that within the last few hours, we have hit, and completely destroyed, 10 inactive mine laying boats and/or ships, with more to follow! President Donald J Trump." [sic]
