The UAE's Ministry of Interior has issued an emergency notification across several areas of Dubai, advising residents to move to the nearest secure building and remain indoors following warnings of a possible missile threat.
According to a message sent to mobile phones, people were instructed to stay away from windows, doors and open spaces and wait for further official instructions.
“Due to the current situation and a potential missile threat, seek immediate shelter in the closest secure building away and to steer away from windows, doors and open spaces, and wait for official instructions,” the alert said.
As reported by Gulf News, authorities clarified that the alert has been issued as a precautionary safety measure and must be taken seriously by the public.
The ministry also warned residents against risking their safety to record or share videos on social media after receiving emergency alerts.
Officials noted that some individuals had stepped outside their homes or halted their vehicles to film videos following the notifications, stressing that such behaviour could endanger lives and may lead to legal consequences if it involves ignoring official safety directives.

For motorists who receive the alert while driving, the ministry advised against stopping abruptly on highways or exiting vehicles. Instead, drivers should continue to their destination and seek shelter in the nearest secure building upon arrival.
The Ministry of Interior emphasised that violating emergency safety instructions is a legal offence and urged residents to fully cooperate with authorities to ensure an effective emergency response.
Authorities also asked the public to rely only on official government communication channels for updates as the situation develops.
