A lip reader has claimed that US President Donald Trump raised concerns about a recent shooting and Russia within moments of welcoming King Charles III and Queen Camilla to the White House during their state visit.
According to forensic lip reading expert Nicola Hickling, Trump appeared to reference a weekend shooting, saying, "This shooting …" shortly after greeting the British monarch on the South Lawn. King Charles reportedly responded, "I'd rather not stand about here too long,” adding, "I feel I shouldn't be here."

Hickling further claimed that Trump asked the king if he was alright before remarking, "It's not a good thing," and adding, "I wasn't prepared, but now I am prepared."
He then appeared to shift the conversation to Russia, saying: “So right now, I am talking to Putin… He wants war.”
The British monarch, according to the lip reader's account, attempted to defer the discussion, saying, “We will discuss that later.”
However, Trump reportedly continued, warning: “I've got a feeling … if he did what he said, he will wipe out the population.” Charles again responded, “Another time,” before the conversation moved on.
The exchange then turned lighter, with Trump pointing out plans for a new White House ballroom project, saying, “You can see right through there… Would you like to see?” to which Charles replied, “I'm sure you'll show us.”

Following the brief interaction, the two leaders, along with Melania Trump and Queen Camilla, proceeded inside for a traditional afternoon tea.
The royal couple later attended a garden event hosted by the British ambassador, marking the start of their four-day US visit, which includes an address to Congress and a formal state dinner.
