Pakistan on Friday successfully tested the Fatah-4 cruise missile, a long-range weapon designed to penetrate advanced air defense systems by maintaining a high-precision, terrain-hugging flight path at just 50 meters.

With a strike range of 750 kilometers, the missile reportedly achieved a Circular Error Probable (CEP) of five meters.

"Equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids, the weapon system is capable of engaging long-range targets with high precision," reported PTI citing a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Pakistan's high command, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir commended the successful test-fire of a sophisticated missile system.

According to the military, these upgrades are designed to improve the missile's accuracy and help it avoid enemy defenses, making it more effective in dangerous combat situations.

This latest launch follows the September 2025 testing of the 750-km-range, terrain-hugging system and the more recent training launch of the Fateh-2 last month. The Fatah series has seen rapid development since the May 2024 test of a 120-km-range surface-to-surface variant during a period of heightened regional tension, as per PTI.

In a statement released by the Interior Ministry on X, Mohsin Naqvi hailed the achievement and "congratulating the nation" on the successful test of the indigenous Fatah-IV cruise missile.

He further added, “I congratulate the scientists and engineers. I am proud of the scientists and engineers. Pakistan's defense is impregnable.”
