Travellers, with upcoming plans to or from Dubai, may need to revisit their itineraries, as IndiGo has prolonged the suspension of some international services that operate through parts of Middle Eastern airspace.

The airline said the move follows a review of the current situation in the region. In a statement shared on social media, the airline said that it had “meticulously evaluated the evolving regional developments and their potential impact on flight operations” before taking what it described as the “most responsible” decision in the interest of passenger safety.

Eligibility For Refunds, Free Rescheduling

Passengers who booked their tickets on or before Feb. 28, 2026, for travel up to March 7, 2026, are eligible for the benefits. This includes customers flying to or from Dubai and certain other international sectors.

While exact routes have not been detailed, the carrier said that the waiver extends to other international sectors affected by the airspace restrictions.

Under the advisory, eligible passengers “may reschedule at no additional cost or opt for a full refund.” The airline has clarified that these benefits apply to impacted bookings during the specified travel window.

Air India Express

Air India Express has also extended the suspension of its services to and from the United Arab Emirates as well as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia till 11:59 p.m., IST, on March 2, 2026. The carrier has also mentioned that for change and cancellation waivers for impacted bookings, eligible passengers do so through the airline's official website and contact numbers.

What Should Passengers Do Now?

Travellers are advised to regularly check their flight status on the airlines' official websites. Those whose bookings are directly affected will be informed through their registered contact details. Passengers planning travel in the coming days are encouraged to stay updated, as operational adjustments may continue in line with regional developments.

Missile Strikes Rattle Major Gulf Cities

Air raid sirens rang out across Tel Aviv on Monday, March 2, as the Israel Defense Forces reported a renewed barrage of missiles launched by Iran. Within minutes, explosions were heard not only in Israel but across Gulf cities, including Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi and Manama.

The escalation follows the launch of the US-Israel military campaign on Saturday, Feb. 28, which killed Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, along with several senior figures. Since then, blasts have repeatedly shaken parts of Qatar and Bahrain, as well as the UAE's largest urban centres.
