The Realme 16 5G, whose most prominent selling point seems to be a "selfie mirror camera", was announced by the company on Monday. The camera feature allows users to take high definition group selfies using their back cameras that come with a mirror-like panel next to the camera lens.
Teased to be "coming soon", the phone has a 50 megapixel (MP) rear camera, and a 7,000 mAh battery and runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset.
Expected Price Points
The phone has been released in select international markets such as Vietnam, where it was launched in January, retailing at 11,490,000 Vietnamese dong or Rs 40,000 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The premium model, with 12GB RAM and the same storage, was priced at 12,490,000 Vietnamese dong which amounts to about Rs 44,000.
The Indian versions are likely to reflect similar price points.
Features To Look Out For
The device sports a 50MP primary camera (with selfie mirror) and a 2MP monochrome lens, as well as a 50MP front sensor, all arranged on a camera bar similar to the Google pixel line of smartphones. The phone comes in 'Air White' and 'Air Black' colours. It is powered by a big 7,000mAh battery with support for 60W wired fast charging and reverse charging. It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset and uses the Realme UI 7.0 user interface, which in turn is based on Google's Android 16.
The Realme 16 5G features a 6.57-inch full HD+ Amoled display with a 120Hz refresh rate, and has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.
