On April Fool's Day, OnePlus surprised the world with a teaser for a fictional product, the "OnePlus Hammer". The video posted on Weibo claimed the hammer could transform objects using quantum technology, operated by a host.
The three-minute video showcased a device resembling Thor's iconic weapon, claiming it could transform objects using quantum technology. In one of the demonstrations, the hammer turned a solid gold bar into a sleek watch. Throughout the video, the hammer transforms a clock, water, and even the host into different objects, setting the tone for April Fool's prank.
However, towards the end of the video, OnePlus added a twist as the host transformed into the "OnePlus 13T". teasing the brand's latest innovation as part of the prank.
The transformations, which began as a joke in the video, subtly led to the revelation that a new OnePlus phone is on the way. The teaser also comes with a tagline — "big devil in small screen". The end of the video, in Mandarin, shows a red colour rectangular retail box, likely confirming the OnePlus 13T moniker.
The teaser hints that the new model is likely to be launched in China first. However, the brand did not provide any details on the price or specification of the handset. The video appeared to confirm that the model will feature a compact form factor, making it more convenient.
