- Eight people have been arrested in Iran for offering their services to “un-Islamic” online modelling networks, particularly Instagram, according to the head of Tehran's cybercrimes court.
- A two-year sting operation, Spider II, was set up to target and arrest models for posting photos online without their hijab. The hijab is compulsory for women in public since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
- Spider II identified 170 people running online Instagram pages, according to a statement from the special court.
