Which iPhones Will Get iOS 26? Report Reveals List of Supported Devices

Some features, like Apple Intelligence, will not be available on older iPhone versions.

According to a report by MacRumors, iOS 26 will be compatible with iPhone 11 and newer versions. The latest information has been shared by a tipster private X account, which has not been identified. MacRumors notes that this account has a proven record of providing accurate information related to iOS.

The report says that iOS 18 will be the last version to support the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. These devices will receive security updates even after iOS 26 is launched.

According to the MacRumors report, the following iPhone models will support iOS 26:

  • iPhone 16e

  • iPhone 16

  • iPhone 16 Plus

  • iPhone 16 Pro

  • iPhone 16 Pro Max

  • iPhone 15

  • iPhone 15 Plus

  • iPhone 15 Pro

  • iPhone 15 Pro Max

  • iPhone 14

  • iPhone 14 Plus

  • iPhone 14 Pro

  • iPhone 14 Pro Max

  • iPhone 13

  • iPhone 13 mini

  • iPhone 13 Pro

  • iPhone 13 Pro Max

  • iPhone 12

  • iPhone 12 mini

The report adds that iOS 26 will be compatible with all iPhone 17 models. 

Some features, such as Apple Intelligence, will not be available on older versions, the report states. 

According to a Bloomberg report by Mark Gurman, the interface for iOS 26 will undergo a redesign along the lines of the VisionOS. It indicates that it will feature a more transparent interface. 

Gurman has also said that iOS 26 will have an AI-powered battery management mode, which will enhance the device’s battery life. This feature will study a user’s usage of the device to optimise battery utilisation. 

One of the biggest talking points surrounding the latest iOS launch at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is the new naming scheme for the software. According to reports, Apple will stop its conventional naming system and match the name with the subsequent year of release. Thus, instead of being named iOS 19, the next iOS is expected to be named iOS 26.  

Apple’s WWDC 2025 is scheduled to begin on June 9 at 10:30 p.m. IST. The event will end on June 13.
