Google Pixel 9a Leak: New Renders Reveal 'Tiny' Camera Bump, Colour, Design
The Google Pixel 9a leak by Evan Blass on X, appears to be official marketing material. It showcases a new purple colour and more. The changes got an enthusiastic response from Google Pixel fans.

Google Pixel fans eagerly awaiting the Google Pixel 9a release now have more to look forward to as another leak has surfaced online. The latest Google Pixel 9a leak, which appears to be official marketing material, was shared by X user Evan Blass on his private account. The leak showcases the purple variant of Google’s midrange device.
Unconfirmed reports also suggest that the Pixel 9a will be thicker than the Pixel 8a version. This could mean a bigger battery and more room for the camera system within the device's body. For perspective, the Pixel 8a is 8.9 millimetres thick.
However, what’s most caught the attention of tech enthusiasts is the Pixel 9a's camera bump, which is tiny as compared to its predecessor. The revealed look shows that the Pixel 9a is likely to have a very tiny camera bump that barely protrudes from the body, offering a refreshing change. Reacting to Blass’ post, many users welcomed this shift, as larger camera bumps in smartphones are often criticised for ruining the overall user experience.
It might also feature a dual-camera setup, including a 48-megapixel primary sensor. As with previous models, Pixel 9a is likely to offer Google’s signature camera features, such as Night Sight and Astrophotography, among others.
“It's time to kill the camera bump. Forever. Seriously,” a user said.

The upcoming model will reportedly be powered by Google’s Tensor G4 chipset - a custom-built chip that powers artificial intelligence on Pixel phones.
Compared to G3, Tensor G4 offers stronger performance, enhancing the device in domains like faster browsing and improved battery life. Google claims that the Tensor G4 is 17% faster at opening apps compared to the Tensor G3.
The model is said to have 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and options for 128GB and 256GB storage. Some reports indicated that Google plans to offer seven years of software and security updates on this model, which will likely run on Android 15.
Reports also claimed that 9a will have a 6.28-inch display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will offer a peak brightness of 2,700 nits. Additionally, it is expected to come with a 5,100 mAh battery.
