In the lead up to the anticipated launch of Apple iPhone SE 4, the stock of the iPhone SE (2022) is apparently running short at retail stores, suggesting that a refresh may be imminent, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Not just the smartphone, Gurman says that after staying missing from macOS 15.3 update, Apple’s new Mail app will reportedly be available on the Mac (and iPad too) very soon.

iPhone SE Stock Thins At Retail Outlets

In April, Apple is expected to release the iPhone SE 4, which could be called iPhone 16e. It is anticipated that the iPhone SE 4 would have a new design, most likely inspired by the iPhone 14.

In what may be clearly indicative of the imminent launch, Gurman noted that the inventory of the iPhone SE (2022) is “drawing down” at retail stores, which “is a reliable sign that a new model is coming,” he said. However, he added that it also implies that once the iPhone SE 4 is available, Apple is unlikely to maintain the current model, even at a lower cost. “That seems like a missed opportunity, since a cheap iPhone could’ve helped Apple make inroads in some markets,” he noted.

The iPhone SE 4 could see a launch around end of April and, given its improved features and capabilities, could cost more than its predecessor. It is probably going to be priced somewhere around the $500 mark (about Rs. 42,000).

Redesigned Apple Mail App On Mac And iPad In April

Gurman also indicated that Apple’s new Mail app will be available on the Mac in April, running macOS 15.4. In a follow-up tweet, he added that the iPad will also receive the updated Mail app at that time.

With iOS 18.2, Apple released the redesigned Mail app on the iPhone in December, but it wasn’t available on any other platform. Even with macOS 15.3 update in December, the new Mail app was missing. However, with macOS 15.4—which is anticipated to go into beta in the coming weeks and make its debut in April—the feature could show up.

The updated Mail app uses Apple Intelligence (Apple’s version of AI) to prioritise messages and sort mails into distinct inboxes. Along with organising mail into the primary category, it also features mail categories for transactions, all mail, promotions, and updates.
