Apple iPhone 17 Leaks: Ming-Chi Kuo Makes Big Prediction On Dynamic Island
Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo has shared that the size of the Dynamic Island will remain “largely unchanged” in the upcoming iPhone 17 series.

The buzz around the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is like no other. The lineup is expected to include iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. And no, there will likely not be any iPhone 17 Plus as the new super-thin Air model is expected to replace it. However, if you were expecting Apple to roll out an enhanced Dynamic Island feature, then know what trusted market analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed.
Ming-Chi Kuo On Dynamic Island
Ming-Chi Kuo, a famous Apple expert from TF Securities, shared on X that the size of the Dynamic Island will remain “largely unchanged” in the upcoming iPhone 17 series. The dynamic island which was first seen in the iPhone 14 Pro models, replaced the traditional front camera notch for a better look. It was loved and praised for its functionality, although some have been waiting for quite some time for some good news on a sleeker version of the dynamic island. Well, the bad news is they will have to wait longer.
Back in July 2024, Jeff Pu from Haitong International Tech Research suggested that the Pro Max model could use advanced “metalens” technology that can make the dynamic island smaller. However, Kuo’s statement shows that such changes are not going to happen this time.
iPhone SE 4 On The Way
While the iPhone 17 lineup may stick to the set design, it is the upcoming and affordable iPhone SE 4 that is rumoured to get the Dynamic Island too. Till now, the SE models did not have any of the fancy iPhone bells and whistles. This upgrade will change the current SE notch design to the Dynamic Island. Moreover, the iPhone SE 4 will offer remarkable upgrades such as improved camera quality, fast processor and better display.
With reports hinting that the under-display technology will eventually eliminate the Dynamic Island altogether, Apple might be planning for something else, something big. For now, we will have to wait until 2025 or beyond for any drastic changes in design.
Considering that the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy S25 series is not very different from the S24 series, the onus is on Apple to make the iPhone 17 series stand out from the earlier iPhone 16.
