Apple has confirmed its annual Worldwide Developers Conference will run from June 8 to 12, as it gears up to unveil a defining suite of artificial intelligence tools.
“WWDC26 will spotlight incredible updates for Apple platforms, including AI advancements and exciting new software and developer tools. As part of the company's ongoing commitment to supporting developers, WWDC will also provide unique access to Apple engineers and designers, and insight into new tools, frameworks, and features,” Apple said in an official newsroom statement.
For developers, Apple added, “WWDC kicks off with the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union on Monday, June 8. The conference continues online all week…where developers can connect directly with Apple engineers and designers to explore the latest announcements.”
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, this year's WWDC will be critical for Apple as the company looks to regain ground in artificial intelligence, with the unveiling of iOS 27 central to that strategy.
Reports from Bloomberg News suggest the company is redesigning Siri to function more like a chatbot. The company is also reportedly addressing longstanding issues within its operating systems, including performance slowdowns and software bugs.

As per Gizchina.com, Apple has rarely been explicit about the focus of its annual conference. Highlighting AI advancements upfront suggests a deliberate attempt to set expectations among developers and journalists alike. After a staggered rollout of Apple Intelligence and mounting scrutiny over its pace relative to rivals, WWDC 2026 is being framed as a decisive response.
The Worldwide Developers Conference has traditionally centered on software, though Apple has occasionally used the stage to introduce new hardware. The unveiling of the Apple Vision Pro in 2023 stands as a recent example. However, for 2026, expectations of a headline-grabbing device reveal remain low, reported Gurman.
The conference will be streamed via the Apple Developer app, website and its YouTube channel, as well as on the Apple Developer bilibili channel in China. Further details will be released in the run-up to WWDC across the same platforms.
Developers worldwide will also be able to follow updates on LinkedIn and WeChat, and bilibili in China.
