India is gearing up to host one of the most ambitious intellectual gatherings — Synapse Conclave 2026. The two-day event promises to bring together some of the most influential voices in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), technology and science.

The conclave, scheduled for Feb. 21-22 at the Le Méridien in Gurugram, has generated buzz on the internet, due to its “unreal speaker lineup,” which includes Nobel laureates, climate experts and cultural icons.

Yann LeCun is scheduled to make his first appearance at a public event since leaving the post of Chief AI Scientist at Meta and starting his new venture, AMI Labs.

LeCun, known as one of the "godfathers" of artificial intelligence, bagged the prestigious Turing Award and witnessed several major announcements around AI during his 12 years at the company.

At the event, he will share why he is challenging the current hype around LLMs, besides opening up about anxieties around emergent behaviour and AI displacement.

Sergiu Paşca, a Stanford psychiatrist-turned-neuroscientist, will also take part in the conclave. Recently, his lab introduced ‘assembloids,' which were defined as organoids of brain, spinal cord and muscle tissue that remain linked into circuits that can twitch on command.

Besides this, the event will also feature Yan Xuetong, an influential geopolitical strategist; Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, Chairperson and Managing Director of Biocon; Shankar Mahadevan, Grammy winning maestro; Sabinije Von Gaffke, human futures catalyst; and Parag Khanna, strategic cartographer.
