The International Cricket Council on Tuesday announced the fixtures and the groupings for the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025. The tournament is scheduled to start on Feb. 19, 2025, in Pakistan's Karachi, with the final match to be held on Mar. 9.
India's first game of the tournament is scheduled for Feb. 20, when the team will take on Bangladesh in Dubai.
The much-awaited India vs. Pakistan contest has been scheduled for Feb. 23. The game will also be played in Dubai.
Notably, all the matches to be played by India in the Champions' Trophy are booked in the United Arab Emirates, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India refused to send the team to Pakistan for the multilateral cricketing event.
All the fixtures involving India, along with the first semi-final, will be played in Dubai.
Group A for the tournament includes Pakistan, India, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, while Group B comprises South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, and England.
All other matches of the tournament will be played in Pakistan. Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Karachi are the three venues to host the matches. All three venues will hold three group games each.
On Dec. 19, ICC confirmed that all matches between India and Pakistan at ICC events during the 2024-2027 rights cycle will be held at neutral venues.
This rule will be applicable for both men's and women's events, including the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 hosted by India and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
